Wilma P. Hallmark

Wilma P. Hallmark, 92, died Wednesday, July 23, 2025 surrounded by her family and loved ones.

She was born near Camp Dix, Kentucky on December 5, 1932 to the late Lawrence and Ruby (Bloomfield) Ash. She was raised to be a hard worker and enjoyed going fishing with her father and helping her Grandmother Ash with errands. Wilma graduated from Laurel High School in 1950 and made her way to Bucyrus, settling there in 1954. She worked in various area factories before becoming the manager of Maplecrest Assisted Living for 21 years. She will also be remembered as a server at the Bucyrus Moose Lodge for over 20 years.

Wilma enjoyed visiting with people and loved to stay busy. When she became the matriarch and oldest living Ash, she took the role seriously and thoroughly enjoyed leading the family gatherings. Her travels took her on five cruises to many countries, traveled through countless states, ventured on numerous girls’ trips, and visited many casinos. Wilma followed her family’s sports, played golf in her younger years, and watched the Cleveland Indians, Ohio State Buckeyes, Kentucky Wildcats, and golf on television. At home, she made beautiful quilts, crafts, and completed many sewing projects. She was a faithful member of Faith Point Community Church (former Kaler Ave. CCCU), member of the King’s Daughters, and a member of the women’s auxiliaries of AmVets Post 27 and Moose Lodge 669.

In addition to her parents, Wilma was preceded in death by husbands, Marcus Bloomfield, John McCoy, and Tommy Hallmark; son, Michael McCoy; and brothers, Lawrence Ash Jr. and David “Ray” Ash.

She is survived by children, Marc (Diana) Bloomfield, Debra (Butch) Fackler, Penny (Jerome) Heydinger, and John (Carol) McCoy; grandchildren, Marcy (Mike) Porter, Jason (Veronica) Bloomfield, Marcus Bloomfield, Jeremy (Tracey) Bloomfield, Stephanie (Jerry) Morris, Scott (Stephanie) Fackler, Emily Fackler, Missy (Scott) McDougal, Melody (Bob) Mergenthaler, Laura (Nick) Weatherbie, J.D. (Jill) McCoy, Logan McCoy, Olivia (Brad) Lafferty, Josh McCoy, Brittany (Destiny) McCoy, and Tyler McCoy; 39 great grandchildren; 12 great-great grandchildren; siblings, Hester Dyer, Janet “Fay” Stafford, Lloyd “Dick” (Shirley) Ash, Norma “Sue” (Art) Schiefer, Linda Zornes, Jo Ann (Tim) Ridge, and Steve (Wendy) Ash; along with her dearly loved nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Wilma’s family will receive friends on Saturday, July 26 from 2-3:55 pm at Wise Funeral Service in Bucyrus where her funeral will begin at 4:00 pm with Pastors Bob Jividen and Vernon Lore officiating. She will be buried in Morgan Cemetery near Camp Dix, Kentucky at 1:00 pm on Sunday.
