Virginia M. Case Stanley

Virginia Marie (Case) Stanley, “Ginni”, 78, stepped peacefully into the hands of the Lord our God Thursday, May 9, 2024, at her home with her loving husband by her side. She had been challenged recently with complications from Sjogren’s Syndrome and a more recent diagnosis of cancer in March of this year.

Ginni was born February 8, 1946, in Galion to the late Jacob E. and Martha M. Case. As a teen, she approached Robert R. Stanley at a party and said, “Bob Stanley, I’ve been looking for you all night.” They have been together ever since. They were a perfect match as they complemented each other’s personalities. After graduating from Galion High School in 1964, she and Bob were married that summer, on July 7. She was employed at General Electric before spending most of her working years at The Timken Co. where she was a quality inspector until her retirement.

Ginni was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother (“Nana”) whose family adored her. She was loved by all who knew her. She never met a stranger and was always interested in you. Ginni was always the light in the room – putting everyone at ease and making everyone feel welcome. She was a care provider, listening ear, and warm hostess to many family and friends. Ginni was a fabulous cook and took pride in preparing meals for everyone. She deeply appreciated good food and loved to tend to her beautiful rose garden. Ginni embraced the Catholic faith and had a unique ability to share it with others. She was an active member of Holy Trinity Parish where she served as a lector.

Ginni is survived by her husband of nearly 60 years, Bob Stanley; daughter, Rebecca Shelean (Stanley) Hermann and her husband Chris; grandchildren, Lydia and Theodore; sister, Karen Sipes; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by siblings, Ashel Kelly, Barry Case, Eric Case, and Terry Case.

A memorial mass will be held on Thursday, May 16 at Holy Trinity Church at 11:00 am with Fr. Paul Fahrbach officiating. Urn burial will follow in Holy Trinity Cemetery, after which family will receive friends at a luncheon in the Holy Trinity cafeteria.

Memorial donations are encouraged to be made payable to St. Francis Community Kitchen to help feed the hungry. These gifts can be given at the church the day of services or sent to Wise Funeral Service, 129 W. Warren St., Bucyrus, Ohio 44820.

Memories and photos can be shared in the online guestbook.
