Vicki Whitmeyer

Vicki Jo Whitmeyer, 71, died peacefully Friday, April 17, 2026 at her home under the care of her loving family.

She was born June 22, 1954 in Bucyrus to the late Edward and Marjorie (Dinkel) Wagner. Vicki graduated from Bucyrus High School in 1972 and married her sweetheart, Ken Whitmeyer on May 26, 1973, sharing nearly 52 years of marriage when he preceded her in death on March 10, 2025. Vicki worked in purchasing for the former Ohio Crane Company before spending most of her career in the Crawford County Auditor’s office.

Vicki will be remembered for her quick wit and the way she gave her full attention, making every moment feel special. She was always ready for a fun day, whether taking her sons to the wave pool or having her camera ready to capture the grandchildren in nature while hiking. After retiring, she volunteered at Wynford Schools and the Humane Society. Vicki and Ken loved attending their grandchildren’s sporting events and, after Ken’s retirement, they took up RV camping with memorable trips along the west coast and several destinations in between. At home, she always kept beautiful flower beds and spoiled her cats.

Vicki is survived by sons, Scott (Krista) Whitmeyer and Ryan (Kay) Whitmeyer; grandchildren, Chase (Alexis) Whitmeyer, Adrienne Whitmeyer, Jesse Whitmeyer, Danielle Looker, Nick (Jessa) Looker, Owen Whitmeyer, and Zoe Whitmeyer; great grandchildren, Dawson, Scarlett, Damien, Chance, Makenna, and Nile; siblings, Ronald (JoAnne) Wagner, Jeanette Lyons, and Debra (Jeff) Teynor; along with nieces, nephews, and extended family.

In addition to her parents and husband, Vicki was preceded in death by brother-in-law, Roger Lyons.

The Whitmeyer family will gather for a graveside service in Brokensword Cemetery on Friday, April 24 at 2:00 pm with Certified Celebrant, Lisa Snyder officiating

Memorial donations can be made payable to Humane Society Serving Crawford County or Alzheimer’s Association and given at the service or Wise Funeral Service in Bucyrus.
