Shirley M. Huggins

Shirley M. Huggins, 85, died early Wednesday, September 29, 2021 at Altercare of Bucyrus where she had resided for three years.



She was born October 26, 1935 in Bucyrus to the late Glen C. and Velma E. (Treisch) Batton and attended Bucyrus Schools, then married Andy Wren with whom she had two sons, Phil and Danny. She married Bill Huggins on June 23, 1972 and he preceded her in death in 1991.



Shirley will be remembered for her spotless home and love of family. She enjoyed spending time with her sisters, whether at craft shows, shopping for bargains, sharing meals, or camping near Marblehead. When Bill was living, they travelled in their camper with the Smokey Mountains being their favorite destination. Her home was a welcoming place with a warm meal always prepared.



Shirley is survived by grandchildren, Brianna Wren, Brody Wren, Phil Shepherd, Justin Huggins, and Nikki (Grant) Floyd; sister, Pat Combs; stepdaughters, Cindy Huggins and Monica McLeod; many great grandchildren; and several extended family and friends including her niece and caregiver, Kim Humphrey, and special cousin, Karen Rarick.



In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by sons, Phil and Danny Wren; sisters and their husbands, Norma (Chuck) Burris and Glenda (Dick) Shull; and stepsons, Jeff and Steve Huggins.



Services will take place on Friday, October 8 at Wise Funeral Service in Bucyrus. Friends may call from 12-12:55 pm and the funeral will begin at 1:00 pm with Mark Dettmer, Certified Celebrant, officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery.
