Roger D. Lahman

Roger D. Lahman, 67, of Bucyrus passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, November 7, 2023.

He was born July 31, 1956 in Bucyrus to Loren and Denna Lahman and was a 1974 graduate of Bucyrus High School. He worked for several years at the local Sohio station, which his dad managed and then for Home City Ice. He spent 18 years at Velvet and was currently employed at Ohio Poly Tech.

After many years together Roger married Rhonda (Blankenship) on March 24, 2007 and she preceded him in death on September 26, 2020. While together, they owned Buckeye Taxi for many years. Roger enjoyed time spent with family and friends and they created many memories. They shared countless cookouts, and often gathered together to cheer on the Buckeyes, Browns and Indians. They spent many summer months camping and enjoying time around the pool. Roger and friends traveled many roads while riding their motorcycles. Many of their rides included a stop at the New Riegel Café, one of their favorite spots. He often reminisced on the Friday nights, where he and close friends enjoyed a relaxing evening out and toast the nights with Miller Lites. “Living the High Life” Cheers to a good life and he will be missed by many!

In addition to his parents, Loren and Denna Lahman, Roger is survived by four children, Lauren Lahman (Jason) Shope and Lacey Lahman, Lesley (Keith) Blankenship and son, Chris (Hayley Smith) Fetters, Neal (Kim) Orewiler and their two children, Isaac Orewiler and Kendra Williamson; three great grandchildren, Willow, Luca and Kase; two sisters, Tami (Jim) Musser and Schenna Roberts as well as a niece, Shelbie Hoover.

Roger was preceded in death by his wife, Rhonda; brother, Timmy Lahman; brother-in-law, Steven Blankenship and few close friends, Larry Edwards, “Big Al” Al Yunker, Tom Hildebrand, Jerry Chandler, and Joann Thompson.

Roger’s family is holding a private goodbye and he will be laid to rest next to his wife, Rhonda, in Oakwood Cemetery. If desired, donations can be made payable to the Humane Society Serving Crawford County.
