Roberta L. Alhauser

Roberta Louise Althauser, 82, of Crestline, died on Saturday, October 3, 2026 at Unger Park Post Acute.

She was born on November 26, 1943 in Bucyrus to the late Louis G. and Margaret L. (Kuenzli) Hetrick. Roberta graduated from Bucyrus High School and while in school, worked at Foulk’s Drug Store and Miller’s Drive In before taking a position at Timken, where she worked for 43 years prior to retirement. This is where she met Lester “Jr.” Althauser and on April 17, 1964, they were married. He preceded her in death on May 29, 2013.

Roberta was spiritually fed through attending church at Wayside Chapel and will be remembered as a caring individual with a big heart. She shared many meals with others when there was a need and left a positive impact on many lives.

Roberta’s favorite hobby was skiing and over the years, she and Les shared many adventures at Snow Trails, as well as resorts in Michigan, New York and West Virginia. She was also a great ski instructor for her nieces and nephews. Roberta could spend hours tending to her beautiful flowers and took meticulous care of their outside decor. She enjoyed bargain shopping and was always up for a walk as a way to keep her heart heathy. Scrapbooking gave her much joy as it was a way to dote on those she loved.

Roberta is survived by daughter, Beth Mueller of Costa Rico; grandchildren, Ronny Hopkins and LaVonne Hopkins; sister, Marylin (Tom) Blankenship Sr. of Tiro; nephews, Tom (Ginny) Blankenship Jr., and Gary Blankenship; niece, Sherry (Ben Delaplane) Henkel; as well as great nieces and nephews who she also considered her grandchildren, Josh Blankenship, Kaleb Blankenship, Mikayla (Caden) Haynes, Wesley (Andrea) Henkel, Brannon Henkel, Dakota Blankenship, Kendall Blankenship, and Gabby Blankenship.

In addition to her parents and husband, Roberta was preceded in death by her son, Michael “Todd” Althauser and son-n-law, Todd Mueller.

Roberta’s family will receive friends from 1-3 pm on Friday, October 30 at Wise Funeral Service, 129 W. Warren St. in Bucyrus, where her memorial service will immediately follow, beginning at 3:00 pm with Pastor Jerrill Wyler officiating.

If desired, donations may be made payable to either, Wayside Christian School; Wayside Chapel, or Gentiva Hospice. These gifts will be accepted through the funeral home and expressions of sympathy are encouraged to be shared on her guestbook page at www.wisefuneral.com.
