Robert E. Clark

Robert E. Clark, 91, of Nevada, died July 30, 2022 at Marion General Hospital.

Robert was born May 29, 1931 in Crawford County to the late Harry Thomas and Elverda Elizabeth (Nelson) Clark. He graduated from Sulphur Springs High School in 1949 before enlisting in the United States Army in 1951. His service would lead him to be stationed in Alaska during the Korean War. During his enlistment, he married the love of his life, Donna Bell Hayes, May 30, 1954. Robert worked at Timken for 34 1/2 years before retiring.

Robert was a member of Nevada United Methodist Church and American Legion Post 181. He enjoyed deer hunting with his sons, fishing, and attending his grandchildren’s and great-grandchildren’s sporting events. Robert never missed a game or dance recital. He was his wife’s biggest fan. When Donna would go to tournaments with her softball team and bowling leagues, Robert would tag along and cheer her on. He was an avid fan of the Cleveland Indians and Browns. Robert was a funny, dedicated, family-oriented man who loved to tease his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Robert is survived by his wife of 68 years; grandchildren, John (Jenny) Gorenflo, Ray (fiancée Amy Taylor) Gorenflo, Jessica (Chris) Stake, Rebecca Clark, Elizabeth (Wesley) Neville, Sarah (Chris) Eicher, and Lee (Kris) Rowlinson; great-grandchildren, Emma, Ella, and Mikaela Gorenflo, Savannah Clark, John Eicher, Luke Rowlinson, Madison Vipperman, Teneil Lilly; son-in-law, Richard Gorenflo; daughters-in-law, Judy Clark and Candy (Denny) Livingston.
