Rhonda E. Campbell

April 24, 1952 — December 29, 2022

Rhonda E. Campbell

Rhonda E. Campbell had a smile that simply made everyone else smile and now her smile is shining bright in Heaven following her unexpectedly peaceful passing at her home on Thursday, December 29, 2022.

She was born April 24, 1952 in Muskegon, Michigan to the late Francis M. Jr. and Vernice J. (Black) Mulready. Rhonda was a 1970 graduate of Barrington High School in Barrington, Illinois and shortly thereafter started a family and was a fantastic mother to her three children. She began working outside the home with Alltel and was then transferred to Marion, Ohio where she mainly worked as a customer service representative for then GTE/Verizon. She retired in 2010 following 30 years of caring for customer needs.

While attending a bereavement class, she met Myron Dwight Campbell and the two formed a great friendship and bond that led to their marriage on August 30, 2003. Rhonda was all about people and sincerely wanted to know how they, and their families were doing. She loved to host gatherings for family and friends and would prepare excellent feasts. When it came to her involvement with children, she always felt, “the more the merrier”. In her earlier years, she cared for youngsters out of her home and in more recent years, she was ever so excited to see the local 4-H kids come visit their home and care for the alpacas.

Rhonda was formerly active at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Bucyrus where she had served on council as well as assisted in many other capacities. She was active in the Beta Sigma Phi women’s friendship network and she had served as a past president. She was also an active volunteer with Meals on Wheels and HOPE. Some of her other hobbies included cross stitching, Embroidery and knitting and for relaxation, she loved working puzzles and reading books.

Rhonda is survived by her husband, Myron; children, Scot (Leslie) Mann, Heidi (Geoff) Durian and Julie (James) Hendrix; stepchildren, Allan (Rose Ann) Campbell, Gary (Linnea) Campbell and Todd Campbell; grandchildren, Chloe and Chelsea Mann, Garrett, Jerred and Mallorie Durian, Rilee and Bailey Hendrix, Wayne (Heather) Campbell, Laura (Daniel) Hadidon, Tiffany (Daniel) Schmidt, Ethan Campbell, Mitchell Campbell and Peter Campbell; a great grandson, Noah; siblings, Francis “Marty” (Kay) Mulready III, Steve (Cheri) Mulready and Myrna (Dwight) Frazier as well as many nieces, nephews and extended family members.

Calling hours will be held from 4-7 pm Wednesday, January 4 at Wise Funeral Service, 129 W. Warren St. Bucyrus, Ohio where her funeral will be held at 11:00 am Thursday with Pastor Hans Scherner officiating. She will privately be laid to rest in Dundee Twp. Cemetery East in Dundee Illinois. Those unable to attend her funeral can view her service on her tribute wall at www.wisefuneral.com.

If desired, donations can be made payable to either Samaritan’s Purse (money to benefit, Operation Christmas Child) or to the Mid-Ohio Alpaca Association and these gifts will be accepted through the funeral home.
