Pauline G. Spillman, 93 of Bucyrus, died Wednesday, January 29, 2020 at Altercare of Bucyrus.
She was May 29, 1926 in Crestline to the late August and Mary (Rader) Weiler and was a 1944 graduate of Whetstone High School. Pauline was visiting a chiropractic hospital in Denver, Colorado, where she met Randall D. “Randy” Spillman. On June 15, 1953 they married and settled in Bucyrus. Randy preceded her in death on July 29, 1989.
Pauline believed in the power of prayer and enjoyed years spent worshiping in New Winchester EUB, Wayside Chapel, and Scioto UMC. She worked at G.E., Swan, and retired from Farmers Citizens Bank where she cleaned and prepared the office for daily customers. Pauline enjoyed baking pies of any kind and often reminisced about visiting family in Missouri. She loved talking on the phone to her church friends and, for relaxation, she could be found in front of her TV watching The Waltons or Gunsmoke.
She is survived by a brother, Joseph Weiler; nieces and nephews, Mary Zeigler, Ronald (Melinda) Butler, Susie (Robert) Bucher and James (Cathy) Weiler. In addition to her parents and husband, Pauline was preceded in death by a sister, Helen Shaffer.
Friends may call from 1:00-1:40 pm Monday, February 3 at Wise Funeral Service and then go in procession to Oakwood Cemetery where a graveside funeral will begin at 2:00 pm with Pastor Dennis DeLong officiating.
Donations can be made payable to Scioto UMC and will be accepted through the funeral home.
