Pat Pensinger

Patricia Ann Pensinger, 82, of Bucyrus died Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at her home after suffering for six years with Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s Diseases.



She was born in Bucyrus on December 21, 1934 to the late Frank Benedict and Annabelle (Jaroe) Benedict-Deisler. She graduated from Bucyrus High School in 1952 and married her best friend, Carl Pensinger, on January 30, 1953. Pat worked for Crawford Steel prior to getting married and then was a homemaker. She worked in The Timken Co. cafeteria in the 1980s as well.



Pat will be remembered for her giving spirit, calm presence, and sharing everything she had. She was a natural athlete who bowled in a number of leagues and also enjoyed golfing. She and Carl had the opportunity to travel quite a bit and looked forward to extended stays at their cabin on Manitoulin Island, Canada since 1972 where they loved fishing and just being together with friends, family and eachother. Pat was a gifted seamstress and knitter, sewing and crocheting countless blankets, sweaters and other clothing. Pat also loved music. She and Carl attended lots of dances and she sang in the Sweet Adelines Chorus. She was a member of Christian Community Church in Galion and a former Woman of the Moose.



Pat is survived by her best friend, husband, and caregiver, Carl Pensinger; two sons, Mike Pensinger of Bucyrus and Scott Pensinger of Galion; six grandchildren; four step grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and her brother, Sam Benedict and his wife, Dee of North Robinson.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Jeff Pensinger and daughter-in-law, Tina Pensinger.



Pat’s family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 17 from 4-7 pm at Wise Funeral Service in Bucyrus where her funeral will be held on Wednesday at 1:00 pm with Dr. Daniel Turner officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery.
