Pamela Burgin

Pamela Burgin, 90, died Sunday, September 28, 2025 at Altercare of Bucyrus where she had been a resident for several months.

She was born August 8, 1935 in North Robinson to the late Gaylen and Miriam (DeGray) Althouse. In 1953, Pam graduated from North Robinson High School and married Harold L. Burgin on June 14. They shared 58 years of marriage when he preceded her in death on December 30, 2011. Pam worked as a homemaker before joining Galion Hospital as a nurse’s aide. She then worked for Sanese Services in the Timken cafeteria for 10 years before retiring in 1988.

Pamela will be remembered for her strong will, care for her family, and love for the outdoors. She and Harold took their family to Munising, Michigan in the UP many summers to fish. They also enjoyed motorcycle trips that took them all over the US and gathering with fellow riders in the Sunset Ramblers Motorcycle Club. They wintered and made many friends in North Fort Myers, Florida. Every Tuesday was set aside for playing cards with “The Crooks,” as their gathering was affectionately known, where they played cards and enjoyed friendship. She and Harold were faithful members of the Bucyrus Nazarene Church and took care of the lawn and landscaping for 28 years. At home, she worked in her flower beds, did yard work, crocheted, and enjoyed the companionship of her beloved dog, Chloe.

Pam is survived by children, R.A. "Rick" (Bev) Burgin, Rory (Louise) Burgin, and Laura (Steve) Chambers; grandchildren, David (Kim) Burgin, Sandy (Chad) Sweitzer, Kristi (Roger) Chambers, Tammie (Shawn) Sallee, Eric (Kerrie) Bohach, and Matt (Kristin) Bohach; and 13 great grandchildren; sister, June Steiger; sister-in-law, Cheryl Luke; as well as her nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and Harold, she was preceded in death by brother, Larry Althouse; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Wilma and Harmon Eckstein; and brothers-in-law, Harold Steiger and Rick Luke.

The Burgin family will gather privately for a graveside funeral in Sandusky Cemetery.
