Olloe M. Mosher

Ollie Mahala (Edmonds) Gould Mosher passed away early Sunday at AlterCare of Bucyrus where she had been a resident since 2007. She was 93. Mrs. Mosher was born Nov. 20, 1916, in Perry County to James I. and Edna V. (Tharp) Edmonds. She was preceded in death by half-sisters, Midge, Olema Joyce Drake, and Leota Joyce Main; half brother Donald Joyce, and brothers Wilber, Robert and Jack. She was the last surviving member of the 1933 class of Corning Central High School. After graduation, she moved to Columbus where she worked at Kroger. She met Weldon Marvin Gould and they were married Sept. 27, 1941, in Ironton. He died May 27, 1960. To this union was born two children, Sandra L. (Hugh) Latimer of Columbus and the late James Merritt Gould. On Mothers Day, May 13, 1962, she married Charles William Mosher, who passed away July 28.1996. She is also survived by two grandchildren Gavin (Crystal) Gould of Columbus and Shannon (Zac) Asbury of Clermont, Fla. Ollie and Weldon moved to Bucyrus in early September 1945. After the two children were in school, Ollie worked in the cafeteria of the former Mount Zion School from the mid 1950s until she and Weldon bought the former Smooth-Kool Dairy Bar in late August 1957. After selling that in 1963, she worked at the Dog 'N' Suds, then in the kitchen at the Valley View Golf Course and Crawford Lanes. While at Valley View Golf Course, she learned to decorate cakes and make chocolates. She was an avid bowler for many years. She was also known for her knitted, crocheted and handcrafted items in area bazaars and craft shows. She was a member of the Mount Zion United Methodist Church and a member of the Grange, first at Mount Zion and later at Bucyrus. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, June 22 at the Wise Funeral Home with visitation an hour before the service. Pastor Sondra Snode will officiate and burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Mount Zion United Methodist Church through the funeral home.
