Mike Kimerline, 67, of Upper Sandusky, died Tuesday, January 20, 2026 at his home of natural causes.
He was born on November 1, 1958 in Bucyrus to the late Judge Nelfred G. and Janet C. (Fowler) Kimerline. Mike was a 1977 graduate of Bucyrus High School and went on to earn his bachelor’s degree in history from Texas Lutheran College. He spent many years working in hotel management and hospitality before becoming dad’s caregiver and retiring.
An avid amateur meteorologist from an early age, Mike loved studying the weather and was able to provide factual forecasts, helping family and friends prepare for various climate conditions. Dancing was something else Mike enjoyed and he never shied away from the jitterbug or disco hits to dance to. Many will remember his love for growing citrus trees, which helped make some sweet tasting pies from the fruits of his labor. But of all that Mike did, he was happiest around family. They enjoyed many good times at Lake Erie (their second home) and his nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews provided him smiles from ear to ear.
He will be missed by his siblings, Mary (Tim) Fike, Gwen (Pat) Eulett, and Jannel (Chris) Motter; nieces and nephews, Jessica (Eric) Barnard, Riley (Karen) Fike, Samuel (Nicole) Fike, Alec (Abbey) Motter, Evan Motter, and Brady Motter; great nieces and nephews, Cohen, Malyn, Milo, Ellie, Olivia, Mary, Hudson, Alaina, and Aiden; aunts and uncles, Regieg (Kay) Kimerline, Phyllis Fowler Reed, and Kim (Ron) Young; as well as many cousins with whom he was close.
Mike’s family will celebrate his life privately and he will be inurned in Oakwood Cemetery. If desired, donations may be made payable to The Foundation for Enhancing Communities (Abby’s Angels in the check memo). These gifts will be accepted through Wise Funeral Service. Expressions of sympathy and memories are encouraged to be shared on his guestbook page at www.wisefuneral.com.
