Mary K. Bolin

Mary Kay Bolin, 64, of Bucyrus, died Saturday, February 4, 2023 at Avita Hospital in Bucyrus following a brief illness.

She was born on May 2, 1958 in Bucyrus to the late Glenn E. and Esther (Ford) Saunders. On October 15, 1983, she married Paul H. “Bub” Bolin and they shared many wonderful times and much laughter until his passing on November 7, 2011. Much of Mary’s work career took place at the Subway in Bucyrus where she had served as a longtime manager.

She was a fun, loving and caring person, who was active in the lives of her family. Mary loved supporting her kids and grandkids at their sporting events and they always knew when she was cheering them on. She proudly helped care for her brother and sister, as that’s what family did and her vibrant smile could light up a room. Mary and Paul hosted many Saturday night gatherings at “Bub’s Bar” where they, along with many family friends gathered for cards and socializing. Mary was a member of the Bucyrus Moose Lodge where she could be found with friends and liked to play pull-tabs as well as simply enjoy an evening out. When she did find time to relax, she enjoyed crocheting or reading a good book.

Mary will be missed by her children, Paul (Sandy) Saunders, Scott (Laurie) Heinle and Niki Bolin; grandchildren, Kalyn (Nick) Russell, Grant, Andrew and Sammy Heinle and Elijah Bolin; great granddaughter, Elizabeth Russell; siblings, Joe Saunders, Joan Saunders and Glenna (Robert) Mink as well as a very close and longtime friend, Mark Fishpaw whom she considered family.

Mary was preceded in death by a daughter, Tracy Starner and three sons, John, Paul and Dean Bolin.

A memorial visitation will be held from 4 – 7 pm Thursday, February 9, 2023 at Wise Funeral Service. She will be privately laid to rest next to her husband, Paul in Crawford County Memory Gardens.
