Mary Lou Blicke Hastings, 91, died peacefully Monday, June 30, 2025 at home under the care of Avita Hospice.

She was born in Bucyrus on April 15, 1934 to the late Juilliard H. and Evalyn (Quay) Blicke. After graduating from Bucyrus High School in 1952, Mary Lou worked with her family at Bucyrus City Bank before stepping away to raise her family. Once her girls were a little older, she returned to the bank until her retirement in 1999. She married Scott R. Hastings in 1993, sharing 30 years when he preceded her in 2023.

Mary Lou was an active member of the Bucyrus community. She was a lifelong member of First Presbyterian Church where she served as elder, deacon, choir member, Presbyterian Women, and anywhere her help was needed. She served as regent and treasurer of the Hannah Chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution. Other memberships included Crocus Club, Bucyrus Hospital Auxiliary, Crawford County Republican Women, and the Girl Scouts as a scout, advisor, and local board member. She and Scott were also avid car collectors. While Scott was partial to Lincolns, Mary Lou loved her Rolls Royce and enjoyed drives and gatherings with the Rolls Royce Owners Club.

At home, Mary Lou enjoyed knitting, sewing, baking, and caring for her plants and floral and vegetable gardens with her green thumb. She loved gatherings with family and children’s presence always brought a smile to her face and brightened her day. She and Scott also looked forward to winter getaways at the family condo in Bonita Springs, Florida.

Mary Lou is survived by daughters, Christine Winans, Susan (Richard) Teynor, and Sarah (Steve) Shields; 10 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Linda Blicke; and sister-in-law, Pat Blicke.

In addition to her parents and husband, Mary Lou was preceded in death by daughter, Roberta Kate “Robin” Jolly; son-in-law, Dr. Patrick Winans; brother, William J. Blicke; sister, Judy Blicke Howard Rhode; brother-in-law, Paul Howard; brother-in-law, James Rhode; and her former husband, C. David Jolly.
