Mary A. Miller

July 26, 1937 — January 18, 2021

Mary A. Miller

Mary Ann Miller, 83, of Oceola, passed peacefully at her home on Monday, January 18, 2021.

She was born July 26, 1937 in Fostoria to the late George and Ella D. (Harrison) Moore and was a 1956 graduate of Sulphur Springs High School. Later that year, she married Alex R. Miller Sr., whom she met during her senior year of high school and they shared 52 years of marriage before his death in 2008.

Mary worked various jobs throughout her life but will mainly be remembered for her years spent at Geauga Plastics and concluded her work career at Dingy Duds. She was a member of the American Legion Women’s Auxiliary and the Eagles Lodge.

Mary enjoyed time spent with her family. They shared many conversations around their campfires and she always needed to know how everyone was doing. She rarely missed BINGO and rather than asking where she played, the better question was, “Where didn’t she play?” She enjoyed reading and watching movies and in more recent years, she enjoyed watching crime shows and Jeopardy while snuggling with her feline fur babies.

She is survived by children, Alex R. Miller Jr., and Katie (Brian) Short both of Oceola; grandchildren, Alex R. (Laura) Miller III and Mary (Clay) Ehmann; great grandchildren, Logan Miller, Nathan Miller, Lexie Miller, Elizabeth Ehmann, Robin Ehmann and Abby Ehmann; sister, Margaret (Bob) Annon of Jamestown, ND as well as many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by children, Roger Lee Miller, Donald Eugene Miller and Victoria Sue Miller.

A graveside funeral will be held at 3:00 pm Saturday, June 12 in Brokensword Cemetery. Donations can be made payable to the American Diabetes Association and will be accepted through Wise Funeral Service. Expressions of sympathy are encouraged to be shared on her tribute page.
