Marlo J. Haefer

Marlo J. Haefer, 75, of Bucyrus, died Saturday, March 03, 2018 at her home surrounded by her loving family.

She was a lifelong resident, born September 17, 1942 to the late, Robert and Treva (Stoltz) Maley. Marlo graduated from Bucyrus High School in 1960 and that same year married Ronald W. Haefer who survives. In addition to caring for her family as a homemaker, Marlo worked at Swan Rubber, Continental Hose in Upper Sandusky as well as Wyandot Seat and Carter Lumber before taking a position with the Ohio BMV in Bucyrus where she ended her work career.

She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, served as a Den Mother while her son, Lee was in Cub Scouts and was a very active member with Women of the Moose; serving all chairs, including Sr. Regent. Marlo was proud to have received her College of Regents Degree from the lodge as well as she and Ron, both completed an associates degree from Marion Tech.

Marlo enjoyed time spent talking to Ron and other truck drivers on the CB. She was referred to as Tinkerbelle which was fitting as she collected anything Tinkerbelle and other angels. She worked many jigsaw and crossword puzzles over the years and no matter what time of day, she always enjoyed a cup of black coffee.

In addition to Ron, her husband of 57 years, Marlo is survived by two children, Lee (Teri) Haefer and Kimberly (Scott) Kent; six grandchildren, Travis (Chantell) Haefer, Andy (Danielle) Stinehelfer, Justin Slate, Mason Kent, Dalton Kent and Madison Kent; one great grandchild, Siferah Haefer; two sister, Connie Winslow and Ireta (Walter) Reinhart; one brother-in-law, Richard (Vianney Perdomo) Haefer and a sister-in-law, Linda Sue Siebert. Marlo was preceded in death by her son, Randolph Haefer.

Friends may call from 4-7 pm Wednesday, March 7 at Wise Funeral Service. Her funeral service will be held 11:00 am Thursday at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Bucyrus with Pastor Michael Greenler officiating. Burial will follow in Chapel Heights Memory Gardens, Marion, Ohio.
