Linda L. Irvin

Linda Irvin, 68, of Bucyrus, entered Heaven on Friday, November 3, 2023 following her passing at home as a result of pancreatic cancer.

Linda was born on September 11, 1955 in Louisa, Kentucky. She was the oldest of four children of Ray Waller who survives and Wilma June (Ferguson) Waller who preceded her in death. Linda worked for a period at Al Smith’s Place and most recently at Walmart in Bucyrus.

Linda’s faith in the Lord was very strong. She had formerly worshiped at Bucyrus Church of God and was currently a member of Bucyrus Full Gospel Lighthouse Church where she taught Sunday School, worked with the youth, and assisted wherever else needed.

Linda had a fun-loving personality and loved to laugh. She was happiest around family and always tried creating special memories with her grandchildren. She was devoted to her two daughters and would drop anything to lend them a hand. She enjoyed family traditions and looked forward to the holidays, when the women would gather and make sauerkraut balls, cookies and share much laughter. She kept busy sewing and used her creative side to craft many silk floral arrangements which became gifts for others. Linda enjoyed fishing at the Pines Reservoir and she and her brother traveled many roads chasing thunderstorms. She liked puzzle books and rarely missed episodes of The Andy Griffith Show, MASH, Little House on the Prairie or The Waltons

In addition to her father, Ray, Linda is survived by two daughters, Christina “Chrissy” (Ben) Hoover and Susann Monk; two grandchildren, Jacob (Jenna) Morgan and Ethan Hoover; two great grandchildren, Wyatt and Beckett Morgan; three siblings, Brenda Sue Shepard, Kathy (Brian) Nye and Robert “Bobby” Waller as well as extended family and friends.

Linda was preceded in death by her mother, Wilma and a son, Thomas “Tommy” Monk.

Calling hours for Linda will be held from 4 – 7 pm Monday, November 6 at Wise Funeral Service, where her funeral will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday with Pastor Josh Millington officiating. Burial will follow in Brokensword Cemetery.

If desired, donations can be made payable to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or to the Humane Society Serving Crawford County. These gifts will be accepted through the funeral home.
