Judith A. Teynor

Judith Ann Teynor was beyond generous with her time and love shown to others and used every opportunity to connect with those she loved. As difficult as it was, on March 17, 2026, those loved ones were by her bedside reassuring her it was okay to enter heaven and that those valuable lessons taught would be passed on through generations.

Judy was born on February 15, 1955 in Bucyrus to the late Lester E. and Dorothy M. (Cox) Dicks and was a 1973 graduate of Bucyrus High School. On October 11, 1975 she married Ernest J. Teynor Jr. and shared 50 wonderful years of marriage.

Judy was passionate about anything she did and though not employed outside the home for very long, she gave her all as one of the original employees at Cassano’s. She particularly fancied their Tuna Boat Sub and proudly served her version to family and friends well after the restaurant closed. She also left her mark at TenEyck’s Greenhouse where she carried out her passion for creating beautiful arrangements for all occasions. As children came along, she focused her care solely on her family. A resourceful and frugal homemaker, Judy knew how to stretch the family dollar. She used her garden to accompany many meals, and as one of the original “extreme couponers”, many of those meals were determined by which protein was on sale that week. She baked the best pies, and her beef stroganoff and breakfast casseroles were devoured as well.

Sociable and outgoing with an infectious laugh, Judy naturally connected with others through her sense of humor, which could be subtle, outrageous, or absurd. She did not know a stranger and would strike up conversations wherever she went, often brightening someone’s day with her beautiful smile and good cheer. Cheerfulness permeated all aspects of Judy’s life, especially in her calling as a wife and mother. Her grandchildren were showered with love and inherited some of her mischievous spirit. Judy poured her entire being into nurturing and caring for her husband, children, and grandchildren, creating a safe, happy, and loving home. Throughout the years, friends and family welcomed into this home would be blessed with Judy’s hospitality.

Judy was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church and formerly served on the Holy Trinity School Board. She impacted many young lives over her 25 years of volunteering with school related functions.

A multitalented artist and crafter, Judy sewed outfits for her children, completed intricate cross stich designs, and upcycled old lath board into wall art, to name only a few projects. Her greatest gifts shone in floral design, which yielded countless wreaths, swags, and bouquets as well as the flowers that she lovingly arranged for her children’s weddings. Judy enjoyed studying genealogy and followed her roots back to the 1600s. Building Legos, doing crossword puzzles and shopping for bargains were some of her favorite activities. For relaxation, she enjoyed listening to Celtic music or classic rock and sipping some of her favorite Red Rose Tea.

She will be deeply missed by husband, Ernie; children, Hilary (Michael) Donatini of Ashland, Rebecca “Becky” (Todd) Eidson of Bucyrus, Daniel (Sara) Teynor of Marion, Andrew Teynor and Elyse (Scott Skidmore) Teynor both of Bucyrus; grandchildren, Cora Donatini, Stella Donatini, Marley Eidson, Simon Eidson, Henry Woods, Audrey Woods and Simon Woods; one great grandchild, Esmond Perdue; siblings, Gerald Dicks, Charles Dicks and Norma Lash; and mother-in-law Patricia Teynor.

Memorial calling hours for Judy will be held from 4 – 6:55 pm on Tuesday, March 24 at Wise Funeral Service, followed by her memorial service at 7:00 pm with Fr. Paul Fahrbach officiating.

Her family specifically requests that in lieu of flowers, friends consider giving to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or a charity of the donor’s choice. These gifts will be accepted through the funeral home and expressions of sympathy are encouraged to be shared on her guestbook page at www.wisefuneral.com.
