John D. Behr

John David Behr, 55, of Bucyrus, died peacefully Monday, April 6, 2020 at Heartland of Bucyrus.

He was born February 24, 1965 in Crestline and was preceded in death by his parents, William F. and Marjorie D. (White) Behr and a brother, James R. Behr.

John was a 1983 graduate of Col. Crawford High School. His uncle and father had both proudly served their country and were an inspiration to John. Because of their commitment to make the United States a better place to live, John decided to enlist with the Army. Throughout his eight years of service he was stationed in, Hawaii, Kansas, Germany, Honduras and Turkey.

John returned home and had worked various jobs over the years, lastly being employed at Liquid Box Corp. in Upper Sandusky. He was a handy individual and his most recent goal was to fix up a house he recently purchased to make it his home. This dream was cut short due his battle with pancreatic cancer.

John was a fun-loving and spirited individual who enjoyed bringing joy to others. He would give you the shirt off his back and his family will always remember the 100 Hot Wheels cars given as Christmas presents to his five great nephews. His eyes light up when his companion and caregiver, Tammie was around and John cherished the adventures and good times shared with his longtime friend, Randy.

In addition to Tammie Neviska, his companion and care provider, John is survived by sisters, Tamera (David) Lowmiller and Connie Baldinger; nieces, Leslie (John) Cowen and Julie (Jerad) Seif; nephew, William Baldinger and his five great nephews, Gabe, Avery and Beckett Cowen and Easton and Cayden Seif as well as many friends.

Though no public service will be held, friends are welcome to make contributions payable to the Humane Society Serving Crawford County. These gifts will be accepted through Wise Funeral Service.
