Jerry Scott Willoughby, 73, died Saturday, August 17, 2024 after a recent decline in health.

He was born March 16, 1951 in Willard where he attended school before enlisting in the Marine Corps. Jerry served two tours in Vietnam, forever shaping his life. He worked for Ohio Crane and Swan Rubber before disability left him unable to do so.

Jerry loved wrenching on his Chevelles, fishing, playing horseshoes, and telling jokes. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion. 

He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Constance “Connie” and Alex Sombaty; son, Greg Frost; his significant other of 16 years, Crecia Slack; Crecia’s daughter, Adrienne (Chad) Fogle and family; and two of his sisters, Jewell Fox and Janice Wilson.

Jerry was preceded in death by his father, Anderson W. Willoughby; mother, Emma Thelma (Allen) Willoughby Botts; stepfather, Elbert Botts; former wife, Jeannette (Naugle) Bond; and siblings, Mary, Stanley, Pauline, Elsa, Anderson Jr., John, Thomas, Ida, and Paul.

Services for Jerry will be held on Friday, August 23 at Wise Funeral Service in Bucyrus. Family will receive friends from 11:00 am – 12:55 pm and the funeral will begin at 1:00 pm with Pastor Andy Wilson officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, New Haven, with military rites by the US Marine Corps Honor Guard and Bucyrus Veterans Military Funeral Detail.
