Jennifer M. Burge

Jennifer Marie Burge was the name given to her by her parents John and Sheila (Bopp) Burge when she was born on September 26, 1972 in Crestline, Ohio. She died on May 18, 2022 and there are many heavy hearts at this time.



Jennifer grew up in Bucyrus and graduated from Bucyrus High School. Her life can be summed up by family, friends, and work. She spent 20 years at the Crawford County Council on Aging where she served as head of homecare and loved being part of a great work family. She was loved by everyone and shared many laughs, adventures and also a few glasses of wine with her friends. Jennifer was a hands-on mom who was more than supportive of her children. She cherished every minute together and was always up for game night, where they’d play cards and she’d grill something unique. They also had many park picnics and did some travels together.



To say that Jennifer liked the Christmas Story movie might be an understatement as she watched it whenever she had time and no matter what the month. She also proudly visited the home on a few occasions. Her favorite color was purple and her smile will live on with anyone who knew and loved her.



In addition to her parents, John and Sheila, she is survived by her children, David (Daisy) Rigney and Nichole Dewiel; grandchildren, Emerleigh and Lincoln; her grand-dog, Layla whom she loved on; brothers. John Burge, Todd (Claudine) Burge and Chad (Holly) Burge; former husband, John Dewiel who she remained close, as well as many extended family and friends.



Jennifer was preceded in death by her brother, Paul Burge; paternal grandparents, John and June Burge and her maternal grandparents, Ernest and Doris Bopp.



Her family invites friends to visit from 2-3:55 pm Sunday, May 22 at Wise Funeral Service, where her memorial service will be held that day at 4:00 pm with Deacon Jerry Gubernath officiating.
