Jean Wagner, 94, passed peacefully on Thursday, August 28, 2025 at Trustwell Living at Carlisle Place in Bucyrus.
She was born May 28, 1931 in Bucyrus to the late Leo S. and Mabel (Kent) McClintock and was a 1949 graduate of Bucyrus High School. Jean was blessed to have been married to three wonderful men. Clifford E. Young, the father of her children; James L. Sharrock and Erwin J. “Bub” Wagner. All three have preceded her in death, but during their years together, each relationship was unique and special to her. Jean worked for 30 years at Swan Rubber and was a well-respected foreman before retiring in 1991. She also served as the Quality Control Officer and traveled to various facilities throughout the United States to ensure they were producing superior products. Following retirement, Jean kept busy by working as a clerk for Virginia Rose for a few years.
Jean led a very active life and was involved in many organizations. She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church; Chapter leader and active member of TOPPS; Women of the Moose; Red Hat Society; volunteer for both the American Red Cross and the Crawford County Court House and loved socializing with folks as she helped to deliver Meals on Wheels for the Crawford County Council on Aging.
Jean was happiest around family and was always ready for a day of shopping with her daughter. She cherished countless memories formed at their farm on River Road, where she enjoyed snowmobiling and four-wheel riding with her grandchildren. But of all they did together, their annual fishing trip to Manitoulin Island up in Ontario, Canada was the best. They stayed at Mac’s Camp and enjoyed a lot of quality time together for nearly 50 years.
Jean is survived by children, Rebecca A. Stormer and David E. Young; grandchildren, Michael (Beverly) Stormer, Greg (Laura) Stormer, Jared (Brooke) Young, and Shannon (Mike) Shirley; great grandchildren, Humiko Stormer, Saja Stormer, Bryce (Haley) Stormer, Ellie Stormer and fiancée, Mason Taylor, Taylor Young, Megan Young, Cooper Young and Ava Shirley.
Along with her parents and three husbands, Jean was preceded in death by sons, Tim Young and Danny Young; son-in-law, Larry Stormer; brothers, Gerald, Donnie, Bobby, Kenneth and Ernest McClintock; and sister, Virginia Orewiler.
Jean’s family will receive friends from 10 – 11:55 am on Thursday, September 4 at Wise Funeral Service, where her funeral will follow at 12:00 pm with Certified Celebrant Lisa Snyder officiating. She will be laid to rest in Oakwood Cemetery.
If desired, donations can be made payable to the Alzheimer’s Association or the American Cancer Society, and these gifts will be accepted through the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy are encouraged to be shared on her guestbook at www.wisefuneral.com.
