Harlan V. Williamson, 90, died unexpectedly May 27, 2025 on his way home after a family gathering.
He was born September 22, 1934 in Fly, Ohio to the late Arthur V. and Burles J. (Minger) Williamson. The family made their way to Alliance, Ohio and Harlan graduated from Sebring High School. While at Sebring, he met Shirley Marshall and they fell in love. Harlan and Shirley were married on September 25, 1953 and made their way to Bucyrus in 1965 where Harlan was a machine operator for The Timken Co. Harlan stayed busy with many side jobs as well. He was a handyman who could do all types of work from landscaping to painting to remodeling. After Shirley’s death in 2006, he began repairing and selling bicycles from his Hopley Ave. front yard until the day he died. He also collected coins and never passed up an auction, finding all sorts of treasures in the dollar boxes he acquired.
Outside of work, Harlan enjoyed hunting and fishing and had another fishing trip planned with his son in the coming days. He loved his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ and was a devoted and longtime member of the Bucyrus Nazarene Church. Though known to be stubborn and set in his ways, Harlan was loved by many and always gave to those in need. He will be remembered as a hardworking, devoted Christian who loved his family.
Harlan is survived by daughter, Rochelle (Gary) Daiber; son, Mark (Pam) Williamson; grandchildren, Michael (Jane) Daiber, Audrey (Chris) McCartney, Brian (Sara) Williamson, Kent (Sam) Williamson, and Danny (Nikki) Williamson; great grandchildren, Madelynn, Nathan, Owen, Kaitlyn, Janelle, Jake, Sadie, Daphne, Addie, Hudson, Oliver, and Zoey; and brothers, Del Williamson and Phil (Ann) Williamson. In addition to his parents and wife of 52 years, he was preceded in death by sister-in-law, Darlene Williamson.
All services will be held on Monday, June 2 at the Bucyrus Nazarene Church where family will receive friends from 2-3:55 pm and the funeral will begin at 4:00 pm with Pastor Ray LaSalle officiating. Burial will follow in Lust Cemetery.
Memorial donations are encouraged to be made payable to Bucyrus Nazarene Church and given the day of the service or at Wise Funeral Service in Bucyrus.
Memories and photos can be shared on the guestbook of Harlan’s tribute page at www.wisefuneral.com.
