Hank W. Rupe

Hank William Rupe, 61, Nevada, died unexpectedly at his home following an apparent heart attack on Sunday, June 1, 2025.

He was born July 9, 1963 in Bucyrus to the late Harold A. Davis and Betty Lou (Rupe) Davis Johnson. Hank attended Bucyrus High School and was currently employed at Longview Steel in Mansfield where he primarily worked as a steel cutter and had also driven semi-truck. Hank shared many great years of marriage with Eva Marie Goddard, who he loved and cherished dearly until her passing in March of 2023.

Family came first in Hank’s life, and he worked hard to provide for those he loved. If there was ever a need, Hank, dad or grandpa, was there to help. He also loved time spent talking with others on his CB Radio, and “Tag Along” as he was referred to, spent hours chatting with friends and family. Hank always enjoyed a good meal, but more importantly, he loved his sweets. Some of his favorites were ice cream, strawberry milkshakes and Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups.

Hank will be deeply missed by his children, Donald (Juanita) Diener Jr., Rebecca (Brad) Kummerer, Rachel (Luke) Harrington and Stacy Rupe (fiancé, William Funk); grandchildren, Michael Stuart, Jennifer Diener, Mary Kummerer, Jason Taylor, Aiden Kummerer, Kaleb Kummerer, Hayley (Cameron) Bruce, Carlos Trejo, Marissa Eulett, Madison Diener, Asia Diener, Emily Rupe, Seth Rupe, Kylie Rupe, Harley Harrington, Walker Harrington, Skyler Shope and Leah Bair; many great grandchildren and a sister, Valerie Taylor.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Betty Lou; wife, Eva; daughter, Janell Diener and two grandchildren, Donald Diener III and Elaina Skidmore.

His family will receive friends from 12 – 12:55 pm Friday, June 6 at Wise Funeral Service in Bucyrus, where his funeral will follow at 1:00 pm with Certified Celebrant Lisa Snyder officiating. Hank will be laid to rest in Oakwood Cemetery.
