Gerald L. McClintock

Gerald L. McClintock, 88, of Bucyrus, died July 24, 2010 at AlterCare. Gerald was born December 12, 1921 in Bucyrus to the late Leo and Mable (Kent) McClintock. He attended Bucyrus City Schools and served in the U.S. Navy in the construction battalion. He was a veteran of WWII having been a member of the Navy SeaBees and spending 11 months in North Africa and 13 months in the Philippines. On July 24, 1949 he married Ruby Marie Ardnt McClintock, who preceded him in death in 2009. Gerald is survived by his brother Ernest (Jane) McClintock of Bucyrus; sisters Virginia Oreweiler and Jean (fiancé Bub Wagner) Sharrock both of Bucyrus and sister-in-law Evelyn McClintock as well as numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by brothers Don, Robert and Kenneth and brothers-in-law Floyd Oreweiler and James Sharrock. Gerald worked at Timken for 33 years in the heat treating department until his retirement in 1981. He was a life member of AMVETS Post 27, VFW 1078, American Legion Post 181 an Moose #669. For over 60 years he and Ruby loved their cabin and boat at Wilson Lake in Marble Head at Lake Erie. He enjoyed fishing and hunting and his faithful canine companion Buddy. Friends may call Tuesday, July 27 from 12 noon to 2 PM at Wise Funeral Service. Reverend Jack Kocsis will officiate a service at the funeral home Tuesday at 2 PM with burial to follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Full military honors will be provided by Amercican Legion Post 181. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or donor'
