Gary Lee Richendollar, 66, of Bucyrus, passed peacefully on Monday, October 20, 2025 at Avita Health System Bucyrus following recent health issues.
Gary was born on October 24, 1958 in Findlay to the late Elmer Perry and Daisy Mae (Hilton) Richendollar. He spent several years in both North Baltimore and Findlay before moving to Bucyrus in 1985. Gary spent several years working for the Bucyrus Telegraph Forum where he loved interacting with customers and fellow employees.
Gary was an active member of New Hope Community Church (formerly First Baptist Church) in Bucyrus, where he served as the coordinator for food pantry, as well as a church deacon, usher and custodian. He was also a member of the Sons of the American Legion.
Gary very much enjoyed the companionship offered by his close friend Dave McCracken and had a big heart for all animals. He enjoyed going on drives around the county as well as an occasional trip to Amish Country, but Gary’s favorite pastime was eating, and he never missed a meal. For relaxation, he enjoyed listening to Gospel music as well as watching TV.
In addition to David McCracken, his close friend of 40 plus years, Gary is survived by siblings, Perry (Kate) Richendollar, Larry Richendollar and Lori (Jerry) Bond.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Daisy; sister, Evelyn Kay Richendollar; paternal grandparents, Jacob and Alta Richendollar; maternal grandparents, Floyd and Cina Hilton and a sister-in-law, Marge Richendollar.
All services for Gary will be held on Saturday, October 25 at New Hope Community Church 235 Woodlawn Ave. in Bucyrus. His family will receive friends from 10 – 11:55 am, immediately followed by his service beginning at 12:00 pm with Pastor Nick Cline officiating. Burial will follow in Salem Cemetery.
Rather than sending flowers, please consider a donation made payable to the New Hope Community Church Food Pantry, New Hope Community Church or to Shriners Hospitals for Children. These gifts will be accepted through Wise Funeral Service or at the church on day of services. Memories and expressions of sympathy are encouraged to be shared on his guestbook page at www.wisefuneral.com.
