Fannie "Fran" Holloway

Fannie “Fran” Louise Holloway, of Bucyrus, Ohio, passed away peacefully at her home on January 17, 2026. Born on February 24, 1936, in Bessemer, Alabama, she lived a life marked by faith, family, devotion, and a joyful spirit that touched all who knew her.

Fran was the daughter of Elizabeth (Green) and Tyler Hooper, Sr., and grew up in a large and loving family. Throughout her life, she remained close to her roots while building a legacy of kindness and spiritual strength. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, William L. Holloway; her eldest son, Derrick A. Holloway; daughter-in-law, Bonnie J. Holloway; and siblings, Louis Hooper, Tyler Hooper Jr., Robert Lee Hooper, Mable Hooper, Rosetta (Hooper) Davis, Curley (Hooper) Gard, and Perlie Mae Keller.

She is survived by her devoted son, Eric W. (Claudine) Holloway of Bucyrus; granddaughters, Derra M. (Phil) Holloway and Destiny J. Holloway of Mayfield Heights, Ohio; grandson, Michael “Mike” Thirst of Elyria, Ohio; sister, Leola (Hooper) Pelt; numerous great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family members who will continue to honor her memory.

For over 60 years, Fran was a faithful member of Jehovah’s Witnesses. Her deep devotion to her faith was evident in every aspect of her life. She found immense joy in sharing the word of God with others through door-to-door ministry. Meeting people from all walks of life and discussing spiritual matters brought her great fulfillment and purpose.

Fran had a zest for life that radiated through her many interests. She loved traveling with family, especially trips to Florida, the Bahamas, and Hawaii, cherishing the memories made along the way. She delighted in attending rummage sales with close friends, always searching for that hidden treasure only she could spot. She enjoyed collecting good recipes to share with others. Fran also cherished long conversations with loved ones, whether over the phone or during visits filled with laughter and warmth.

Those who knew Fran will remember her as happy, kind-hearted, caring, self-sacrificing, and deeply spiritual. Her bright smile could light up any room. Her infectious laugh brought joy to countless moments, and her warm heart left an indelible mark on everyone she encountered.

May the memory of Fannie “Fran” Holloway bring comfort to those who knew and loved her. We love you, Mom, and thank you for all the love you have given us during your time on this earth. We shall see you again! (Revelation 21).
