Esther Belle Ferguson

Esther Belle Ferguson, 91, of Bucyrus, died Monday, March 26, 2018 at Altercare of Bucyrus.



She was born April 17, 1926 at home in Crawford County to the late George and Ruth (Scott) Striker. Esther was a 1944 graduate of Sulphur Springs High School and shortly thereafter, married John Nezdoba who preceded her in death in 1980. In 1982, she married Almon W. Ferguson and he died in in 2006.



Early in life, Ester attended St. John’s Lutheran Church in Sulphur Springs and in recent years had attended St. Paul’s in Bucyrus. She worked 27 years at General Motors before retiring. Esther will be remembered for her excellent pies and beautiful crocheted creations and for relaxation she often watched tv, read or listened to Willie Nelson songs.



She is survived by six siblings, Ernest (Doris), Doyle (Peg), Donald (Dixie), and Richard (Sonja) Striker, Pauline Eichelberger and Patricia Sherman along with many nieces and nephews. Esther is preceded in death by four siblings, Robert “Buddy” and Jake Striker, Wilma Jane Raby, Melda “Toad” Dietz.



A memorial service will be held at 3:00 pm Saturday, April 14 at Wise Funeral Service with Pastor Tom Gruver officiating.



Memorial donation can be made payable to the Bucyrus Salvation Army or a charity of donor’s choice and will be accepted through Wise Funeral Service.
