Dorothy Mae Sipe

Dorothy Mae Sipe, 82, formerly of Oceola, passed away Friday afternoon, July 29, 2011 at Fairhaven Community in Upper Sandusky.

 

She was born September 22, 1928 in Middleport to the late Stanley and Katherine (Williams) Ralph.

She graduated from Holmes-Liberty in 1946 and later attended Tiffin Beauty Academy. She married Earl "Rusty" Sipe on December 29, 1949 and he preceded her in death in August, 2003.

Dorothy is survived by daughter, Kathryn (Joseph) Benedict of Gahanna; two granddaughters, Krista (Tim) Mattoni and Adria (Scott) Jacobs; four great grandchildren, Aundrea, Haleigh, Makayla and Aidan; brother, Richard (Joyce) Ralph; sister-in-law, Judy Ralph and special niece, Nancy Gottfried.

In addition to her parents and husband, Dorothy was preceded in death by her son, Earl Sipe, Jr.; sister, Wanda DeJean and brothers, Raymond, Danny and Kenny Ralph.

Dorothy owned Sipe's Hair Fashions for over 40 years. She loved feeding every animal that came to her patio and especially loved her two cats, Jeffrey and Britany. She was a wonderful mom and grandmother to all of her family. Dorothy loved the Lord, her church friends from Upper Sandusky's Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, and everyone at Fairhaven where she enjoyed living since 2003. She was a former member of Oceola UMC, Pythian Sisters and the Hairdressers Society.

The Sipe family will receive friends at Wise Funeral Service, 129 W Warren St in Bucyrus on Monday, August 1 from 1-3 p.m. at which time the funeral will be held with Jesse Weigel officiating. Burial will follow in Brokensword Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be given to Fairhaven Community through the funeral home.
