Donald Richard Dome, 83, of Bucyrus died Tuesday, November 9, 2021, at Avita Bucyrus Hospital following complications from a recent heart attack.
Donald was born February 13, 1938, in Mansfield to the late Glenn L. and Frances D. (Wilson) Dome. From 1958 to 1964 he served in the Army and was stationed at Ft. Leonard Wood, Missouri.
He eventually made his way back to the area and called Bucyrus home. Donald kept to himself, but he did enjoy family visits. He liked watching movies, working jigsaw puzzles and had an artistic side which led him to drawing, painting, and coloring.
He is survived by children, David, Glenn, Diana, and Dale; sister, Youvonne Marie Hunter as well as nieces, nephews, and other extended family members. In addition to his parents, Donald was preceded in death by his siblings, Francis “Bud” Dome, Evelyn Dome, Edna Malone, Dorothy Malone, and Ellen Delaney.
At a later date, Donald will be inurned at Dayton National Cemetery, where Military Rites will be provided by the Army Honor Guard. If desired, donations can be made payable to Wise Funeral Service, who assisted with his services. Expressions of sympathy are encouraged to be shared on his tribute page.
