Donald R. Butler

Donald Butler, 59, of Bucyrus, died Saturday, June 1, 2024 at Legacy of Bucyrus.

He was born June 18, 1964 in Bucyrus to the late William A. and Elma C. (Morgan) Butler. As a youngster, Donnie was a quiet individual and loved playing with his trainsets. Their family lived near some railroad tracks and anytime Donnie heard a train coming, he’d dart straight for the window as to watch it roll by.

Donald spent many years Fairway and enjoyed working at Waycraft Industries and Timken, where he sorted and packaged a lot of products. He attended church at Victory In Truth Ministries; enjoyed listening to country and gospel music; experienced some great memories on vacations to Tennessee with his group home and loved his Mountain Dew!

Donald is survived by brothers, Carl (Barb) Butler and Gene (Melissa) Butler four nieces, Amanda Shanna (Jon) Cumberton, Natasha Rene’ Butler, Dawn Marie (Joe) Clark and Tina Kay (Brent) Downing; great nephews and nieces, Alexander Cumberton, Dylan Downing, and Jocelyn and Abby Clark; two aunts, Shirley (Lloyd “Dickie”) Ash and Pauline Dyer as well as Megan and Traci who were close friends and care providers from Bridges of Independence.

In addition to his parents, Donald was preceded in death by two sisters, Chris Ann Butler and Patricia Kay Butler along a nephew, Brandon Joseph Starlin.

A viewing will be held from 10 – 10:55 am Thursday, June 6 at Wise Funeral Service, where his funeral will follow at 11:00 am. Donald will be laid to rest in Crawford County Memory Gardens.
