Dieann Jean Frost passed away on Friday, August 9, 2024, at OhioHealth Marion Hospital.
She was born on August 19, 1943, to the late Harold W. Fonderlin and Frances E. (Brainard) Fonderlin. Dieann graduated from Warren G. Harding High School.
Dieann’s passion for dance started at the young age of six. By the time she was in high school, she was teaching students with the same passion. She became a member of both Dance Masters of Ohio and America, where she studied classical ballet and tap dancing. Her love of art started at home watching her mother tint black and white photos of the family. In high school, she took every art class given, including Theater Arts and Textile painting.
Dieann married Gerald “Jerry” Frost on June 2, 1962. They moved to Ashland, Ohio, where she worked in a friend’s small family-owned flower shop.
In 1970, Dieann and her family moved to Bucyrus, where she was asked to take over a local dance school located above the Bucyrus Theater. Years later, Dieann and her granddaughter joined the Country Crossroad Cloggers and traveled to various states and festivals to perform. She went on to become an All Ohio Clogger.
Her love for painting did not go unnoticed and led to many craft shows where she was excited to display and sell her work. She became interested in canvas and slate painting, watercolors, oils, and more. In 2006, she became a member of Heart of Ohio Tole, Inc. (HOOT), where she attended many conventions. Painting became her center, with its relaxing effects. She could not wait for the next project.
Dieann worked at First Federal Community Bank and became a Branch Manager until she retired.
Dieann touched so many lives in so many ways.
She will be sadly missed by her daughter, Missy (Kyle) Tate; son-in-law, Andy Schott; grandchildren, Justine (Brandon) Hill, Dustin (Emely) Tate, Lindsay (Clay) Schott-Jury, Bailey Schott; great grandchildren, Braxton, Collin, Lacey, Austin, Silas, and Graham; siblings, Tim (Rev. Diane) Fonderlin and Louanne (Greg) Dubos. She was preceded in death by husband, Jerry Frost and daughter, Tammy Schott.
Friends may gather with family in Oakwood Cemetery on Wednesday August 21 where her graveside service will begin at 11:00 am with Dieann's sister-in-law, Rev. Diane Fonderlin officiating.
Those wishing to make donations in Dieann's memory are encouraged to make gifts payable to St. Jude Children’s Research Foundation or a charity of donor’s choice. These gifts will be accepted through Wise Funeral Service, 129 W. Warren St., Bucyrus, Ohio 44820. Expressions of sympathy can be shared on the guestbook of her tribute page.
