Dan Price

Daniel L. Price, 65, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 14, 2026, at his home, surrounded by his family (due to advanced Parkinsons-MSA disease).

Dan was born in Marion, Ohio, on August 3, 1961, to the late John F. and Margaret A. (Armbruster) Price. He grew up in the family piano store, where he discovered both his passion for music and entrepreneurship. He graduated from Ridgedale High School in 1979, where he served as newspaper editor and fell in love with printing. After high school, Dan went on to successful career stops at the Bucyrus Print Shop and Vincent Graphics in Dublin, Ohio, until he and his wife Barb purchased A-1 Printing in 2001. The company thrived under their ownership, and Dan loved serving and connecting with his customers.

He was deeply involved in and passionate about serving his community. Dan was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Bucyrus, where he served as an elder, sang in the choir and the Rockabillies Quartet, and took part in the Friday Morning Bible Study. He was also a Rotarian and Paul Harris Fellow, a member of the Elks Lodge, a longtime member of the Salvation Army Advisory Board, served on the Marion Goodwill Board (2014-2022), and a longtime singer with United in Harmony. His commitment to the community was honored in 2017, when he was named Chamber of Commerce Citizen of the Year.

Dan was known most for his outgoing, sociable, and charismatic nature. Fun-loving, he brought energy and laughter wherever he went, but his greatest roles were as husband, dad, “Papa”, friend, and community member. The Outer Banks of North Carolina was a treasured destination for time with family and friends. Dan also enjoyed a glass of good bourbon, golfing, watching his beloved Buckeyes, and his favorite delicacy: M&M's.

Dan is survived by his wife, Barb Price; son, Brian (Jessica) Price; daughters, Jennifer (Robert) Gall and Karla (Johnny) Morris; grandchildren, Layla, Lillian, Johnny, Aiden, Kade, Mason (Chastity) Vinyard, Connor Van Hook, Korbin Morris, Alyssa (Collin) Carlson, Dylan Owen, and Ethan Owen; great-granddaughter, Bliss Vinyard; brother, John Price; godmother, Donna Armbruster; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

The family extends heartfelt thanks to Avita Hospice and to Dan's longtime caregiver, Jestine, for their loving care.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Jay Owen; siblings, Cheryl Rice, Bruce Price, Barbara Dranschak, Cathy Price; and godfather, Joe Armbruster.

Family will receive friends on Friday, September 18, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Wise Funeral Service in Bucyrus. Dan's Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, September 19, at 10:00 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church in Bucyrus, with Rev. Rob Harrison and Marcia Stout officiating. He will be laid to rest in the First Presbyterian Columbarium.

Memorial contributions may be made payable to First Presbyterian Church or the Bucyrus Rotary Club and given through the funeral home. Memories and photos may be shared in the guestbook of Dan's tribute page at www.wisefuneral.com.
