Coralie M. Cover

Coralie M. Cover, 88, of Bucyrus and recently residing in Ashland, died Monday, January 31, 2011 at Samaritan Hospital in Ashland.

She was born in the same home in which her mother was born in Champaign County, Ill. August 28, 1922 to the late Otto and Claire (Kirby) Laek. Her family moved to Crawford County when Coralie was a child. She was valedictorian of the Mt. Zion Class of 1940.

Coralie married Delmar Cover on January 12, 1942. He preceded her in death on July 4, 2006. She worked as a "stay at home mom" then began working as an accountant and office manager several places before retiring from Weithman Construction in 1983.

Coralie was an avid reader, especially her Bible. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Bucyrus, enjoyed her time as an election worker and loved the companionship of her chihuahua, Mikey.

Coralie is survived by three children, Lana (Dick) Cline of Jeromesville, Sandy Gearheart of Crestline, and David (Sandy) Cover of Ashland six grandchildren, Brian (Dara) Cline, Laura (Jeff) Thompson, Monica Gearheart, Traci (Jerry) Kenison, Chad Cover and Melissa (Jack) Stuhldreher; and 11 great grandchildren, Haylee, Javan & Kyra Thompson, Kelsea, Kaleb & Kinsey Kenison, Jackie & Tyler Stuhldreher, Bryce Murvine and Gracie Cover.

In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by her son-in-law, Cary "Butch" Gearheart; grandson, Bryan Murvine and brothers, William, J. Maurice and Otto "Junior" Laek.

Friends may call Friday, February 4 from 4-7 p.m. at Wise Funeral Service in Bucyrus. The funeral will be held in the Tiro United Methodist Church, where Delmar and Coralie raised their children, at 11 a.m. Saturday with Pastor Tom Zuercher officiating. Burial will follow at Oakland Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to the First Presbyterian Church through the funeral home.
