Chuck loved woodworking, bowling, golf, vegetable gardening, and watching all the grandkids’ sports. He also loved to fish with trips to Lake Erie and Canada. He was always building or fixing things. He loved to paint and fixer uppers. He also was a huge Ohio State fan and spent many Saturday afternoons cheering on the Bucks and tailgating.

Survivors include wife, Virginia (Flohr) Reffey; daughter and son, Dawn Caldwell of Shelbyville, Indiana, and Todd Reffey (wife Venus) of Columbus, Ohio; sister, Sue Shawk (husband Tom) of Bucyrus; and sister-in-law, Barb Reffey (late husband Vic) of Indiana; eight grandchildren, Emilee Winzenread (husband Cody) of Shelbyville, Sarah Gilbert (husband Eric) of Raleigh NC, Seth Reffey (wife Kourtney) of Galion OH, Eli Reffey (wife Madi) of Ohio, Anna Keithley (husband Chase) of Mansfield OH, Brandie Anderson (husband Nate) of Mt Vernon OH, Jhazmyn Anderson of Radnor OH, and Dakota Anderson (wife Jamelia) of Westerville OH; 12 great grandchildren, Adalyn and Issac Gilbert, Molly, Josie, William, & Sofie Reffey, Cuyler & Isla Anderson, Haiden Stevenson, Khalani & Khora Anderson, and Emerson Keithley; four granddogs: Shadow, Kingston, Maverick, and Mocha.

Chuck was a man of God and known for his prayer list and daily bread. In retirement and throughout life, Chuck enjoyed and built lasting friendships and shared countless laughs. Though deeply missed, Chuck will always be remembered for a faithful spirit, loving heart, and the joy he brought to all who knew him.
