Beverly A. Egnor

Beverly Ann Egnor, 81, died Sunday, October 16, 2016 at Heartland of Bucyrus following a recent battle with bladder cancer.

She was born December 30, 1934 in Magnetic Springs Ohio to the late Bacile and Myrtle (Clarridge) Dewitt. Beverly grew up in Columbus until her father’s work took the family to Marion. It was there she met a young sailor, Norman J. Egnor, who was on break. After regular correspondence, they wound up together in marriage on January 23, 1955 and he survives.

Beverly and family moved to Bucyrus in the early 1960’s and she took great pride in caring for them as a homemaker. She was an excellent cook who will be remembered for her meatloaf and macaroni and cheese. When her boys were older, Beverly took up golf and this became her second passion, just behind family. She was a longtime member of the Bucyrus Country Club, loved participating in a women’s district league for a number of years, and wintered in Myrtle Beach for 20 years which gave her more reason to golf. Bev proudly scored three holes in one throughout her life.

Bev loved spending time with her family, especially her granddaughters. She found krul cross stitching to be very relaxing and she rarely missed her monthly Wednesday ladies lunch get together.

In addition to Norm, her husband of 61 years, Bev is survived by her greatest accomplishments, her two sons, Timothy Michael “Mike” Egnor and Richard Patrick “Pat” Egnor, two granddaughters, Meghan Egnor and Mckenzie Egnor and one great granddaughter, Gabriella. She is also survived by two siblings, James Dewitt and wife Lynn and Lisa Dewitt.

Beverly was preceded in death by five siblings, Richard, Scott, Mary Lou, Betty and Bobby.

Her family will receive friends from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday, October 19, at Wise Funeral Service, where her funeral will take place at 11:00 a.m. Thursday with Pastor Mike Corwin officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made payable to James Cancer Hospital and given through the funeral home. Memories are encouraged to be shared by visiting her tribute page at www.wisefuneral.com.
