Betty L. Wolford, 68 of Columbus died Wednesday afternoon, April 27, 2011 following a long illness.

She was born in West Virginia on May 31, 1942 to Andrew and Cleo Vance who reside in Bucyrus.

In addition to her parents, Betty is survived by a stepdaughter, Debbie (Chuck) McGrady and step grandchildren, Ryan and Tara McGrady of Greenwood, Ind.; sister, Ethel Pfleider of New Bloomington; nieces, Debbie Quintero, Lois (Tony) Miller, Donna (Herb) Loper, Candy (Robert) Gibson and Andrea (Mike) Labounty along with many great nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her nephew, Louis Benedict V.

Betty graduated from Bucyrus High School in 1960 and worked as a credit Manager for Union Fork & Hoe in Columbus. Betty will be remembered as an avid reader of sci-fiction with an interest in trying new recipes from her latest cookbook. Always the professional, Betty enjoyed keeping up on the latest styles and technology. Betty's family will fondly remember her as a quiet person who not only shared humor, but appreciated it in others.

Betty's family will receive friends Saturday, April 30 at Wise Funeral Service, 129 W. Warren St. in Bucyrus from 10:30 a.m.-12 noon when a memorial service will be held with Rev. Lewis Copley officiating. Burial will follow in Crawford County Memory Gardens.

Memorial donations may be made to the National Kidney Foundation through the funeral home.
