Betty A. Wert

April 27, 1950 — September 6, 2021

Betty A. Wert

After a brief illness, Betty Ann (Dyer) Wert, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and faithful Christian, went into the loving arms of Jesus her Savior on Monday morning, September 6, 2021.

Her loving presence will be missed by her husband, Harold Wert; children, Kimberly (Dale) Downing, Kevin (Michelle) Wert, Heather (Steven) Jackson, and Stephanie (Justin) Beck; five grandchildren, Grant (Katie) Wert, Natalie (Theron) Wert, Bradlee Downing, Brenna Wert and Lia Downing and her sister and best friend, Bonnie (Wayne) Auck. Betty’s family was her greatest joy.

She was born to the late Ora and Julia (Fannin) Dyer on April 27, 1950 and was a 1968 graduate of Wynford High School.

Betty and Harold were married on November 15, 1968, at Calvary Baptist Church in Bucyrus; after which Betty accompanied Harold to Germany during his time in the US Army. During her children’s school years, Betty enjoyed volunteering at Wayside Christian School where she cooked hot lunches and ran the concession stand. Betty worked for many years at Cooper’s Mill and then retired from IB Tech after working there for 13 years. Betty’s greatest joys in life were serving the Lord and gathering with her family. She was a member of Wayside Chapel where she served as Sunday School teacher for over 30 years. She also served on the missions board and enjoyed being a member of Wayside Helping Hands, which provided hospitality meals for those in need.

She was a faithful prayer warrior for her family and friends and she enjoyed sending cards to them for every occasion. The words on this page could never convey the love that Betty bestowed on everyone around her, nor could it express how deeply she will be missed.

Her family will receive friends from 4 – 7 pm on Thursday, September 9 at Wayside Chapel in Bucyrus, where Betty Ann’s funeral will be held at 10:30 am Friday with Pastor Jerrill Wyler officiating. Pastor Bill Wert will preside over her interment at Monnett Chapel Cemetery.

Memorial for Betty can be made to Wayside Christian School and expressions of sympathy are encouraged to be shared on her tribute wall at www.wisefuneral.com.
