Benjamin L. Rush

Benjamin Rush, 44 of Nevada, entered Heaven on December 12, 2023 following his passing at Wyandot Memorial Hospital. He had endured esophageal cancer and is now pain free and resting in his eternal home.

Benjamin was born May 14, 1979 in Bucyrus to Roger L. and Phyllis D. (Emory) Rush who both survive. He was a 1997 graduate of Wayside Christian School and on July 29, 2011 he married Sarah B. Rogers, who he met as result of a Facebook friend request. This friend request blessed them with 12 years of marriage and four beautiful children.

Ben, like many other Rush family members, possessed a variety of creative abilities. He spent 20 years working with his dad as a Master Pattern Maker and in August of 2016, hired in at Sekisui Kasei in Kenton, working as a Design and Development Manager until December of 2022 when his health no longer allowed.

He was a God-fearing man who enjoyed worshipping at Wayside Chapel and was proud to share his love of the Lord with others. Ben’s other passion was time spent with family. He enjoyed being outdoors, therefore they did a lot of biking, hiking, and camping. It mattered not where they camped, but a majority of their camping memories were created at Venture Out Resorts.

He was proud of his family and in addition to his wife, Sarah and parents, Roger and Phyllis, Ben is survived by his four greatest accomplishments, his children, Elijah, Charlotte, Evelyn, and Alexander Rush; siblings, Renee Rush and Andrew (Jessica) Rush; paternal grandmother, Janis Rush; maternal grandmother, Eva Emory as well as nieces, nephews and many others who loved him. He was preceded in death by paternal grandfather, Bill Rush and his maternal grandfather, Floyd Emory.

His family invites friends to gather from 1-1:55 pm Friday, December 15 at Wise Funeral Service, where his funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm with Pastor Jeba Moses officiating. He will be privately laid to rest in Grand Prairie Cemetery in Brush Ridge.

Ben desired that his children grow up with a Christian education and a strong faith in God. If you would like, instead of giving flowers, donations can be made payable to Sarah Rush to be placed in an account for their children’s educational needs. These gifts will be accepted through the funeral home and expressions of sympathy are encouraged to be shared on his guestbook.
