Barbara C. Leuthold died peacefully on October 21, 2026 at Orchard Park Assisted Living surrounded by family while under the care of Avita Hospice.
Barbara was born on May 29, 1946 in Wheeling, West Virginia to the late John and Susan (Lynch) Carman. After graduating from Morgantown High School, Barb attended West Virgina University and took a summer job at Cedar Point. She then made her way to Bucyrus where she took a job in the production office at Swan Rubber. She met the love of her life Chuck Leuthold on a double date, who also worked at Swan Rubber. Barb and Chuck were married on April 1, 1977. Not only did Barb marry Chuck that day, she also became the mother of Jill.
Barb will be remembered for her amazing desserts that she baked and shared. She also decorated many graduation and birthday cakes for others. Her biggest joy was going to the quilt shops to purchase fabric for quilts to make for loved ones and friends. Barb loved her Lord and Saviour and worshiped with Woodlawn Global Methodist Church while her health allowed her to.
Barb is survived by her daughter, Jill (Greg) Hill; brother, Michael (Pamela) Carman; sister, Catherine (Paul) Kelly; along with extended family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Charles D. Leuthold in 2010.
Friends and family may gather at the Oakwood Cemetery Columbarium on Monday November 2, 2026 at 10:30 am where Bob Chrisman will officiate her graveside service. At that time Barb will be laid to rest with Chuck.
The family would like to give a Thank you to Avita Hospice and Orchard Park Assisted Living for the great care and love they showed to Barb the last few weeks.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions be made payable to Avita Hospice and gifts can be given at Wise Funeral Home in Bucyrus.
Memories and photos can be shared in the guestbook of Barb’s tribute page at www.wisefuneral.com.
