Aurora Freya Cowgill

Aurora Freya Cowgill peacefully passed while smiling in her parents’ arms and awoke in her heavenly grandma Stephanie’s arms June 23, 2022.



Aurora was born May 25, 2022 to David Michael and Ashleigh Lorraine (Mills) Cowgill in Columbus, Ohio.



She came into the world at 25 weeks and was named Aurora due to being the light of her parents’ and grandparents’ lives. Aurora loved cuddles and holding onto her family’s fingers. Three different times her light flickered, and she came through, showing all the nurses and doctors what a fighter she was. Aurora’s light will shine on in the hearts of everyone who loved her.



Aurora was, and will forever be loved, by her parents; grandparents, Darcy (Elijah) Gilliam, David Ernest Cowgill (Rose Roudebush), and Ralph (Dreama) Mills; great-grandparents, Sandra Garrett, Ralph Mills, Joanne Laipply, and Mike (Patricia) Drew; uncle, Jamin Cowgill; aunts, Katherine Cowgill, Alyssa Mills (Adrian Aguirre), and Elliane Riffe; and many cousins. She is in Heaven with her grandma, Stephanie Cowgill and great-grandfathers, Douglas Garrett and Fred Cowgill, Sr.



Her family will receive loved ones from 5 – 8 pm Monday, June 27 at Wise Funeral Service. If desired, donations can be made payable to the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Ohio and given at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy can be shared on Aurora’s Tribute Wall.



The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at OSU Wexner Medical Center and Nationwide Children’s Hospital for their care of Aurora.
