Arnulf W. Beck

Arnulf W. “Arnie” Beck, 82, died Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at Bucyrus Community Hospital.



He was born March 3, 1934 in Bucyrus to the late Russell and Geraldine (Ruffner) Beck. He graduated from Mt. Zion High School in 1952 and on April 3, 1954 he married Margaret A. Shuck who survives.



Arnie was a hard-working individual who took pride in providing for his family. He spent many years at Timken until retiring in 1983 and even then, he took a position at TSC for another seven years to keep busy.



He might have seemed rough around the edges, but Arnie had a heart of gold and it showed by his devotion to his family through their summer weekends spent at Lake Erie, his active role in coaching his son’s Little League baseball team, and he was always supportive of his grandchildren when they were involved in their activities. Arnie was also a longtime member of the Bucyrus Nazarene Church.



In addition to Margaret, his wife of 62 years, Arnie is survived by four children, Linda (Beck) Shuck of Bucyrus, LuAnn (Greg) Eber of Oak Harbor, Lenora (Earl) Lamar of Ft. Wayne, Indiana, and Michael (Stefani Cooper) Beck of Jonesboro, Louisiana; eight grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.



He was preceded in death by a brother, Donald Beck; one grandchild and one great grandchild.

Friends may call from 1-4 p.m. Sunday, January 15 at Wise Funeral Service where his funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday with Pastor Ray LaSalle officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery.



Memorial contributions can be given at the funeral home to the Bucyrus Nazarene Church or to a charity of the donor’s choice. Expressions of sympathy are encouraged to be left on his Tribute Wall.
