Anne Powers

Anne Powers, 94, of Bucyrus, passed peacefully on Wednesday, September 18, 2024.

Anne was born April 1, 1930 in Derby, Ohio to the late David R. and Lois (Mckinley) Musselman and graduated from Columbus North High School in 1948. On February 1, 1953, she married William E. Powers and moved to Bucyrus, where they enjoyed 46 years of marriage until his death in 1999. Anne cared for her family as a homemaker and helped as a bookkeeper for their family business, Powers Building Supply.

Anne spent many hours reading! History was her topic of choice, and she devoted much of her reading time to learning about the Civil War. She also kept up on current news events and enjoyed watching old movies.

She is survived by daughters, Beverlee Sue Powers and Barbara Anne Powers, both of Columbus, OH; nieces, Amie (Robert) Prusak and Lori (Christopher) Matuska along with her great niece, Chloe Matuska and great nephew, Evan Matuska.

In addition to her parents and husband, Anne was preceded in death by a brother, Davey Lee Musselman; sister, Sue Karshner, and brother-in-law, Jerrold Karshner.

A private graveside service will be held in Oakwood Cemetery in Bucyrus. If desired, donations can be made payable to either, A Place At Home, Ronald McDonald House of Central Ohio, or Ohio History Connection. These gifts will be accepted through Wise Funeral Service, 129 W. Warren St., Bucyrus, Ohio and expressions of sympathy are encouraged to be shared on her guestbook.
