Ann Marie Dyer Enders departed this world much too soon on Saturday, February 18, 2023 at OSU Wexner Medical Center following a hemorrhagic stroke. She was 53 when she died and throughout many of those years, she created an everlasting impact on countless lives. Ann was a great listener who learned from previous struggles not to judge anyone and she brought out the best in everyone she came in contact with.
Ann was born on November 18, 1969 in Bucyrus to Michael S. Kelly Sr. and Elaine M. (Campbell) Kelly. She spent several years working at Walmart where she loved the customers and her co-workers. She was currently employed at the Bucyrus YMCA, where she primarily taught swim lessons, but also worked the front desk and cleaned when and wherever needed. In 2008, she met Todd R. Enders and the two formed a relationship which greatly strengthened in 2014 when Ann gained legal custody of her granddaughter, Rilynn Dyer. It was during this time their love for one another grew even stronger and on July 31, 2021, they officially married, and Todd survives.
Ann devoted her life to her family and the needs of anyone, but Rilynn was truly her “saving grace.” She was clean and sober, and Rilynn was the main reason. Ann just celebrated her 10 year sobriety on January 25,, 2023. Ann played a very active role in her granddaughter’s life. She saw to it, that Rilynn got to her gymnastics, basketball, swim events, and any activities that Rilynn was active in. Ann was Rilynn’s greatest supporter. Ann was also a mother of two boys, and a “second” mom to many of their friends. She gave to so many individuals in the YMCA pool and in the summers, also taught kids how to swim in her pool at home. Spending time with others and her grandson Atlas were also some of her top priorities in life.
Some folks have a “Green Thumb,” but anyone who knew Ann, knew that she had ten as her knowledge and care of plants was second to none. She had a way of making them grow like no one else and she maintained several of them in, and around their home. Ann cared for people as she did her plants. She recently completed certification to council others with addictions and was recently appointed to the Crawford - Marion ADAMH Board of Directors.
Ann enjoyed fishing and many summer days/nights at their place at Lake Erie where family and friends were always invited. She was the planner of all events and proudly hosted gatherings for whatever the reason or holiday. She recently got into creating “chunky blankets” and many of those blankets became gifts for family. Though Ann will be missed by many, she will live on through others as she was an organ donor and those who knew Ann, know that Ann would approve and appreciate the opportunity to help others.
In addition to her parents and husband, Ann will be missed by her sons, Levi D. Dyer and Michael S. Johnson; two grandchildren, Rilynn Dyer and Atlas Johnson; siblings, Michael S. (Lara) Kelly II, Teresa Mease, Todd Kelly, and Ron (Shelby) Kelly; and former husband, Jason (Monica) Dyer.
A celebration of life gathering will be held from 2 – 5 pm Saturday, February 25 at Wise Funeral Service. Her family will be spread throughout the room and welcome friends and extended family to share memories and stories of how Ann touched their lives, as well as just be there and support one another. As you make your way through the building there will be two different slideshows of family photos and on your way out, there’s a good chance you’ll be able to grab one of Ann’s flowers to take home and care for.
Her family specifically requests, rather than sending flowers, please consider a gift payable to Edward Jones Inv. All money will be applied to Rilynn’s custodial account for her future. These gifts will be accepted through the funeral home. Donations toward the family’s unexpected expenses can also be given through gofund.me/46c48408. Memories can be shared on her Tribute Wall.
