Andrew L. Teets, 45, died Thursday, November 2, 2023 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
He was born in Bucyrus on November 6, 1977 to Harold and Rose (Downing) Teets. Andy graduated from Marquette Manor Baptist Academy in Downers Grove, Illinois, attended Bob Jones University where he sang with the University Singers, and earned his associate degree in automotive technology from Wyoming Technical Institute. He had a passion for cars and was well known for the automotive interior work he did as the operator of Harry Totter’s Customs. He was currently working as a Service Advisor for the Craig Smith Automotive Group.
Andy will be remembered as a personable, kind, respectful man with a funny, dry sense of humor who loved his family fiercely. His passion for cars was fostered from his earliest days and he also loved wearing, buying, and collecting athletic shoes. He accepted Christ as his Savior as a teenager and showed his faith by his heart and love for people. At home, he was usually watching YouTube videos on car restoration, Bob Ross paintings as well as enjoying watching movies and playing games with his best girl and her children. He also loved animals and was a gifted Lego enthusiast.
Andy is survived by his parents; sister Becky (Matt) Kirgis and their children, Emi, Evan, and Ellisa; brother Brian (Kallie) Teets; his “best girl” Heather Johnson and her children, Zachary, Caleb, and Paige; uncles and aunts, Kenneth (Charmaine) Teets, Joyce (Joe) Barciz, Alva Teets Jr. (Dr. Craig Cohen), Mary Ann (Bill) Baker, James (Ann) Downing, Daniel Downing, and David (Peggy) Downing; along with several cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandparents and his cousin, Ashley Butler.
Family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 7 from 4-7 pm at Wise Funeral Service in Bucyrus, where the funeral will be held on Wednesday, November 8 at 10:30 am with Pastor Jerrill Wyler officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery.
Donations in Andrew’s memory are encouraged to be made payable to Wayside Christian School or the Humane Society Serving Crawford County and can be given at the funeral home. Memories and photos can be shared on the guestbook.
