December 28, 1940 — October 3, 2015

Ronald F. Musick

Ron Musick showed his family how to run the race with Christ; and on Saturday, October 03, 2015 he showed them how to finish the race with Christ; passing peacefully at his home in the presence of his loving family.

He was born December 28, 1940 in Honaker, Virginia to the late Gilmer “Gib” and Edna (Ball) Musick and was a 1958 graduate of Honaker High School. Shortly thereafter, Ron moved to Bucyrus and he reconnected with Doris A. Rose, whom he’d known since first grade. The two were married a few years later during the summer of 1963 and they’ve shared 52 years together raising a family, working and sharing God’s Salvation with anyone they could because Ron wants to reconnect with everyone when their time on earth is complete.

Ron’s work ethic is second to none. He worked many years at General Electric; retired in 2004 from Bucyrus Blades, helped his wife with various cleaning jobs and loved mowing his yard and yards of other family and friends. He was known to work late and rise early to fix breakfast for his family while they were growing up and he also often skipped out on sleep to watch his children and grandchildren with their activities. He enjoyed helping those in need of assistance and always thanked God for everything he had.

Ron loved worshiping God at the Good Faith Baptist Church in Marion, where he served as a Deacon, Sunday School Superintendent, visited shut-ins and was always the first to start cleaning the church whenever there was a function. He read his Bible daily for at least an hour and then exercised to keep his “temple” in top shape.

He is survived by his wife, Doris; three children, Earl (Deborah) Musick, Rhonda (Keith) Rowland and Rob (Annette) Musick; nine grandchildren, Shauna (Michael) Hurles, Lindsey Rowland, Elizabeth (Matthew) Merringer, Trent Rowland, Matthew Musick, Rachel Musick, Hannah Musick, Sarah Musick and Mark Musick; one sister-in-law, Ellen Whited along with five nieces and two nephews.

He is now rejoicing in Heaven with his parents and three siblings, Jim Musick, Dixie Honaker and Rena Crisp along with everyone who’s accepted God as their Lord and Savior.

Ron’s family will receive friends from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, October 6 at Wise Funeral Service and his funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at the Bucyrus Nazarene Church with Pastor Barkley Slone, his friend and pastor officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Good Faith Baptist Church or to HomeCare Matters Hospice through the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy are encouraged to be shared below.
