Lela Marie Noblit

Lela Marie (Gearhart) Noblit, 90, of Bucyrus, died December 27, 2017 in Centerburg, Ohio.



Mrs. Noblit was born February 20, 1927 in North Robinson to the late Frederick and Ollie (Kaler) Gearhart. She was a 1945 graduate of North Robinson High School and on April 17, 1949, she married Cleo Elmer Noblit who preceded her in death on September 23, 2017.



Lela worked a few jobs outside of the home including, Shelby Depot, Lott’s Garage, Crawford County National Bank and Vasil Manufacturing but she will be remembered for her love and care provided as a homemaker.



Lela was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Bucyrus, serving many years on the Altar Guild and was responsible for making many of the church banners still used today. She was also a Sunday School teacher and pianist in the primary department, a member of WELCA Cotta Group and enjoyed sewing on Lutheran World Relief projects, specifically making quilts and school bags.



Surviving are her son and daughter-in-law, Thomas Allen and Kathy (Seits) Noblit of Mt. Vernon; granddaughter, Emily Marie (David) Hite of Centerburg; great-granddaughter, Mazie Ellen Hite; nephews, Rick Christman and Daniel (Sheila) Christman; niece, Cathy (Phil) Lucas and several great nephews and nieces. Also surviving are a sister-in-law, Eunice Mauler of Bucyrus and brother-in-law, Donald (Nina) Noblit of Butler. She was preceded in death by sister, Donna Christman and brother, Paul Gearhart.



Lela’s family will receive friends from 10:30 to 11:55 am Tuesday, January 2 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church where her funeral will be held that day at 12:00 noon with Pastor Michael Greenler officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery.



Memorial contributions may be made payable to either St. Paul’s Lutheran Church or Bucyrus Salvation Army. These gifts will be accepted at Wise Funeral Service or at the church on the morning of her services.
