Hood, TX until 1963.  He continued his service in the US Army Reserves until his honorable discharge in 1968.  After serving in the Army, John worked for almost 31 years at the Timken Roller Bearing, until his retirement in 1999.

A man of strong faith, John was an active member of Grace United Methodist Church and more recently of Bucyrus United Methodist Church.  He served for many years as an usher and greeter at both churches.
