Dolores L. Irby

Dolores L. Irby, 82, of Bucyrus died early Saturday, January 14, 2017 at Orchard Park Assisted Living after recent health issues.



She was born December 10, 1934 in Corpus Christi, Texas to the late Frank Campion and Noma (Foy) Campion-Rimmer. She met Hardy Irby, a sailor from Mississippi, while he was stationed in Texas and they were married December 20, 1950. The Irbys made their way to Bucyrus in 1959 where Dolores worked at the L&K restaurant. After the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission was established, she made her way to Swan Rubber from which she retired.



Dolores was fun and she was a hard worker. She was a gifted baker whose scratch-made brownies and holiday prune cake will be remembered for a long time. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church where she volunteered a lot before her health declined.



Dolores is survived by her husband of 66 years, Hardy Irby; sons, Mark Irby of Supply, North Carolina and Cory (Karen) Irby of Lynn Haven, Florida; daughter, Jennifer Irby of Bucyrus; granddaughters, Briana Irby, Colette (Mickey) Mink, Stephanie Irby; grandsons, Ryan (Wynne) Irby and Daniel (Marieleen) Irby; great granddaughters, Serena, Jada, and Isabella; sisters-in-law, Nancy Campion, and Alice Hill; brother-in-law, Thomas (Carol) Irby; and many nieces and nephews.



In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Alton Campion, Marlin Campion, and a stillborn; sisters-in-law, Bessie Campion, Jenny Dean, and Victoria Null; and brothers-in-law, Harold Irby and Bob Hill.



Dolores will be laid to rest in the Oakwood Cemetery Columbarium. Her memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 21 at 11:00 am at Calvary Baptist Church, 1600 Marion Road, Bucyrus with Pastor Ken Lance officiating.
